The A-list likes of Lollapalooza leaders Lorde, Charli XCX, Olivia Dean or Tate McRae need no introduction, nor do local luminaries The Smashing Pumpkins and John Summit, yet there’s loads more taking place starting Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2 in Grant Park than merely the leading line.

In fact, over 100 artists will spread out across eight stages representing pop, rock, indie, alternative, hip-hop, K-pop, country, electronic and shades of almost everything else imaginable.

Here’s a little closer look at ten acts slated to perform before the sun sets that simply should not be missed, from megastars-the-making Yungblud and sombr, to the rapidly emerging likes of Sienna Spiro and Leon Thomas, plus MUNA landing somewhere in the middle.

1. Yungblud (Friday)
He’s recorded an entire EP alongside Aerosmith, performed at Ozzy Osbourne’s final show and is almost single-handedly reviving every genre even remotely adjacent to rock or punk, which quickly added up to Yungblud becoming a multi-generational master made to shake stadiums.

2. Sienna Spiro (Saturday)
Fresh off an American tour that sold out in seconds with another around the corner, “The Visitor” Sienna Spiro is well on the way to being England’s most enormous jazzy pop export since Adele, possessing a glorious voice and emotive brand of songwriting entirely her own.

3. Cameron Whitcomb (Saturday)
Canada’s Cameron Whitcomb already backflipped into the hearts of the “American Idol” masses, but is also proving to be one of alt-country and folk rock’s top-tier talents throughout “The Hard Way” and “Deep Water.”

4. MUNA (Sunday)
Though the world has taken tons of dark turns in the four years since MUNA last recorded together, the indie pop powerhouses are still “Dancing On The Wall,” while simultaneously seeming more outspoken than ever when comes to social and political commentaries.

5. Haute & Freddy (Thursday)
The “lavish carnival of sound and spectacle” known as Haute & Freddy has thus far earned shout-outs from Lady Gaga on down, and chances are following the duo’s cabaret performance style meets glam pop execution, they’ll have a field full of new fans.

6. Horsegiirl (Friday)
The single of the summer is steadily shaping up to be HorsegiirL’s “That’s My Beach,” although there are just as many bangers on her entire long-player “Nature Is Healing,” so either start “doin’ your dance” or get ready to “throw them bands high.”

7. Leon Thomas (Saturday)
Buzz continues to build behind Leon Thomas, the film/television actor turned soulful singer/songwriter and double Grammy Award-winner for “Mutt” as “Best R&B Album” and “Vibes Don’t Lie” as “Best Traditional R&B Performance.” 

8. sombr (Thursday)
Falling somewhere in between a modern day David Bowie and slightly left-of-center Harry Styles, bedroom pop “Homewrecker” sombr (born Shane Michael Boose) is truly a force of nature behind the mic, pen and multiple instruments, who promises to bring the best of his breakthrough “I Barely Know Her” and beyond.

9. JADE (Sunday)
After achieving girl group immortality in Little Mix, JADE is in the midst of an electronic pop rebrand, adapting a decidedly personal lyrical direction and experimental sonic tone sure to keep the dance floor full.

10. Balu Brigada (Friday)
New Zealand’s indie rockers Balu Brigada got a jump start by supporting Twenty One Pilots, then ascended on its own thanks to the assertiveness of the full-length debut project, “Portal,” which is destined to be a gateway to greatness during a forward-thinking festival that always knows what’s next.
