English guitar great Robin Trower says “Come And Find Me,” fills up the Copernicus Center

Since the 1960s, Robin Trower blazed trails between the axis of blues and hard rock, starting as a member of the legendary Procol Harum and filling stadiums with a steady string of gold-selling solo albums, especially throughout the ‘70s.

At 80-years-old, he remains remarkably prolific, dropping four new albums this decade thus far alone, including “Come And Find Me,” and also reissuing the classic “For Earth Below” in honor of its 50th anniversary.

Robin TrowerConsidering it’s been seven years since the English guitar great last appeared in the area, One Eleven Productions had the beautifully restored Copernicus Center filled to the very last row of the balcony, where for around 80-minutes or so, Trower’s trio line-up treated faithful of varying ages to well over a half-century of history.

He began by walking “The Razor’s Edge,” demonstrating the technical precision and sheer mastery of the instrument that have put him in the same influential pantheon as even Jimi Hendrix.

However, as anyone could attest throughout “Too Rolling Stone,” “Wither On The Vine” or “Somebody Calling,” Trower is a true pioneer, whose distinctive sound is immediately recognizable and as relevant as ever.

Outside of individually-crafted selections, there were a couple of Jack Bruce collaborations, “Distant Places Of The Heart” and “It’s Too Late,” which were sandwiched around the current “One Go Round.”

Robin TrowerAs expected, the shred-heavy “Day Of The Eagle,” “Bridge Of Sighs” and “Little Bit Of Sympathy” were clear climaxes, but so was the relatively recent rocker “No More Worlds To Conquer.”

In fact, the headliner turned to the 1990s and nearly now to respectively close with “Rise Up Like The Sun” and “Birdsong,” coming across at a similarly optimal level of Trower power as his original era.
