Twisted Sister featuring Sebastian Bach tell Hard Rock Live “We’re Not Gonna Take It”

It felt like two acts for the price of one when a partially reunited Twisted Sister, joined by Sebastian Bach, stormed the Hard Rock Live inside the famed Northern Indiana casino of the same name for the “Resurrection” Tour in honor of its 50th anniversary, finally ending a 20-year absence from the surrounding Chicago area and recalling everyone’s Rosemont Horizon days.
In addition to the original Skid Row singer subbing for a retired Dee Snider, the latest line-up starred co-founding guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda, alongside newer members Russell Pzütto on bass and Joey Cassata keeping the beat.
Together, they carried on a glam/heavy metal tradition that’s thus far performed over 9,000 shows around the world and sold a whopping 35 million albums, putting an emphasis on “Totally Twisted: The Studio Albums 1982-1987,” a brand new box set releasing November 13.
Throughout 75 theatrical minutes, they included “What You Don’t Know (Sure Can Hurt You),” “You Can’t Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll,” the prophetic “We’re Gonna Make It,” and perhaps most appropriately, “The Kids Are Back” as the rebooted group gelled to a similar extent as its prime.
Bach also applied his signature sky high approach and outgoing personality to other fan favorites, such as “Shoot ‘Em Down,” “Tear It Loose,” “Like A Knife In The Back,” “Ride to Live, Live to Ride” and “The Price,” which was dedicated to Snider.
Of course, fellow hard rock/metal men Skid Row had their fair share of humongous hits in the late ’80s as well, so it was only fitting to feature “I Remember You,” in memory of those lost on 9/11 and many departed rock gods, plus “Youth Gone Wild” by the unmistakable voice that put them on the map.
Snider would’ve surely been proud of his past and present bandmates when they tore through the anthem “I Wanna Rock,” and given the volume of an accompanying sing-a-long, chances are “We’re Not Gonna Take It” will outlive them all.
Either way, the Hard Rock had a chance to absorb two classic catalogues, while seeing firsthand how Twisted Sister and Sebastian Bach are both back to making thousands of heads bang.
