Linkin Park’s Fiserv Forum reboot picks up where it left off “From Zero” to “In The End”

Some have called it a comeback and others have referred to it as a reboot, though regardless of how it’s being labeled, Linkin Park is in the process of picking up precisely where it left off.

Granted, the untimely passing of legendary lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017 took significant wind out of the alternative metal/rock/pop band’s sails, but the original nucleus of co-lead vocalist/rapper/rhythm guitarist Mike Shinoda, lead guitarist Brad Delson, bassist Dave “Phoenix” Farrell and Joe Hahn on turntables/synthesizers has since regrouped with new co-front woman Emily Armstrong (previously of Dead Sara fame) and drummer/frequent producer Colin Brittain.

Linkin ParkThanks to the electronically-spiked muscle behind their latest long-player, “From Zero,” plus the promise of everything from the multi-platinum past, Linkin Park filled up 360 degrees of the Fiserv Forum, home to the Milwaukee Bucks.

For two unrelenting hours, the troupe tore through its innovative history, dating all the way back to the 2000’s era-defining “Hybrid Theory,” yet always came across ageless and on fire.

That’s because the retro or recent likes of “Somewhere I Belong,” “Points Of Authority,” “Stained” and “Crawling” were each presented with the utmost intensity over the backdrop of massive video boards, flashing beams of light, loads of lasers and cascading smoke.

The momentum climbed during another galvanizing stretch, including “The Catalyst,” “Burn It Down” and “Up From The Bottom,” as the astounding Armstrong and the iconic Shinoda volleyed lines or rhymes.

Linkin Park was also as contagious as it was aggressive throughout such fist-pounders as “One Step Closer” and “What I’ve Done,” reaching absolute mosh-pit pandemonium by “Numb” and “In The End.”

The colossal, cathartic evening reached an apex in the encore as “Papercut,” “A Place For My Head,” “Heavy For The Crown” and “Bleed It Out” practically levitated the arena and cemented this second coming of sorts as one of the most explosive and fully immersive experiences fans of either era could ever conceive.Linkin Park
