Huntington Bank Pavilion At Northerly Island “Lose Control” for the heartfelt soul of Teddy Swims

A completely out of the blue flash flood with lightening previously forced Teddy Swims fans to practically, well, swim out of Huntington Bank Pavilion At Northerly Island after a mere three songs were off to a steamroller of a start (as pictured above).

Thankfully though, the sold out stop of the “I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy” Tour was rescheduled (as seen below) and the soulful singer/songwriter was able to finish what he started, initially descending down a staircase and meeting his Freak Freely band on the bottom level.

Teddy SwimsThroughout the next two hours, he performed the bulk of the sprawling, continuously-expanding project, belting lots of rockers and tenderly delivering ballads that collectively traced a deeply revealing journey from heartbreak to hope.

“Not Your Man,” “Hammer To The Heart,” “Apple Juice” and “She Loves the Rain” were amongst the earliest, although the latter’s weather report was obviously not missed and the sunny skies ensured it would go off without a hitch.

If anything, it was Swims’ voice brought the bulk of the sizzle factor, only building in the strength and stamina department as he delivered “Devil In A Dress,” “Bad Dreams,” “Free Drugs” and tons more off the main album or samples of prior projects.

It turns out he was just as comfortable stripping down the typically dance floor-filling Illenium collaboration “All That Really Matters” as the pleading “Some Things I’ll Never Know,” plus put a surprising personal spin on Kings Of Leon’s “Use Somebody” as a special jukebox selection.

Teddy Swims“Lose Control” will certainly last forever on what remains of those devices or playlists of multiple stripes and Swims naturally slayed it, accompanied by a steadfast sing-a-long to more than earn an extended encore.

To the majority who stuck around, the headliner rewarded them with stadium-sized renditions of “Bed On Fire,” “Goodbye’s Been Good To You” and “The Door” as he set sights on the next level of much-deserved superstardom.
