The steam of Summerfest kept rising into yet another unprecedented third weekend for what is easily America’s largest and longest of its kind.

The Milwaukee mega event didn’t just save the most enormous act for the very end, but scored an exclusive in the process when it came to Imagine Dragons.

Imagine DragonsIn addition to delivering “Mercury – Acts 1 & 2” cuts, the rock band blasted out the mighty “My Life,” “Believer” and beyond to the roars of the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

In the same venue, increasingly confident country superstar-in-the-making Zach Bryan was as authentic and engaging as ever, sparking a constant sing-a-long while taking a traditional approach to the genre throughout “American Heartbreak” and otherwise.

Even University Of Wisconsin–Madison graduate Yung Gravy rose to the headlining occasion as a last minute substitute for AJR, building upon the prior week’s side stage appearance thanks to a super-sized edition of the comedic hip-hop/trap collection “Marvelous.”

Multiple Grammy and Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter Lauren Daigle also packed the place with her Adele-like voice, a massive band and uplifting Christian crossover messages, such as “Look Up Child” and “Trust In You.”

Whether as an artist or writer for the legendary likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna, Ne-Yo is one of today’s top pop and R&B talents, drawing an overflowing audience who soaked in every second of his “Sexy Love.”

Imagine DragonsEnglish pop/punk rocker Yungblud boldly raised his first towards “Sex Not Violence,” delivered the towering debut of “Lowlife,” then invited several fans on stage during “Loner” to get closer to the endless action.

Grupo Niche brought a non-stop salsa party, Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard revealed his solo country side, Tesla turned up the heavy metal heat and Smash Mouth’s sunny sounds made for another “All Star” score.

Early birds were also rewarded with the “Freak Show On The Dance Floor” of funk veterans The Bar-Kays, the sweet and sassy southern harmonies of Runaway June, plus a special intimate set turned Q&A with “Shut Up And Dance” alt-pop chart-toppers Walk The Moon.

It was certainly bittersweet when the marathon came to a conclusion, but now the countdown is officially on for the next round of the wide-ranging repertoire and all-around excitement that only Summerfest can offer.
