Singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen became a household name on the strength of the ubiquitous single, “Call Me Maybe,” a decade ago, but she’s kept on growing an artist and building an extremely dedicated audience online.

In fact, after selling out the Chicago Theatre in 2019, she accomplished a similar feat at
the sizeable Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom to close out the entire “So Nice” Tour, set on a dreamy stage decorated with the sun, clouds, stars and sky.

The outing came in support of her glistening new album, “The Loneliest Time,” which blends celebratory and contemplative lyrics with both bountiful dance beats and the occasional stripped back ballad.

They were all on display, backed by a bubbly four-piece band and two background singers, in what turned out to be a constant sing-a-long, stacked with the smartly crafted sugar rushes “This Love Isn’t Crazy,” “Run Away With Me,” “Too Much” and “Talking To Yourself” as the party got underway.

Surprisingly, her humongous hit came fairly early and it was obviously a blast, but by no means the climax in a two-hour concert that also included such sparkling standouts as “I Really Like You” and “Now That I Found You.”

Believe it or not, the momentum continued building thanks to the relentlessly infectious “Boy Problems,” “Surrender My Heart” and “When I Needed You,” all of which took the dancing to the next level.

Even so, Jepsen “Didn’t Just Come Here To Dance” by a generous encore featuring the gentler “All That” and the current collection’s buoyant title track, joined on video by studio duet partner Rufus Wainwright.

Yet the pop star saved her supreme banger until the end, the euphoric “Cut To The Feeling,” which should’ve been a global smash, though is nonetheless exactly that to fans who were truly taken all the way.
