A full Ravinia season stacked with Diana Ross, Sting, Pitbull, Stevie Nicks, The Black Crowes
Ravinia absolutely made the most out of post-lockdown life last year with a shortened but no less spectacular season, though 2022 finally finds the world’s longest-running music festival going full tilt for the first time since 2019.
In fact, a quick count of the calendar results in well over a hundred concerts spanning every conceivable genre, along with an equally impressive 50 artists debuting at the esteemed outdoor venue.
“Ravinia is the premier music destination each summer for listeners of all generations,” said Jeffrey P. Haydon, Ravinia’s President and CEO in a statement to accompany the comprehensive roster reveal.
“We have a robust lineup of more than 100 events ranging from global music, jazz, country, and hip-hop, to indie rock, pop, family shows, and of course, classical, featuring the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in residence.”
Those new to Ravinia include several A-listers and acclaimed acts such as Pitbull, Iggy Azalea, Dwight Yoakam, Erykah Badu, The Black Crowes, Arrested Development, Grace Potter, Dispatch, Ziggy Marley and Why Don’t We.
The list of returning performers is just as enormous with favorites such as Diana Ross, Sting, Emmylou Harris, Béla Fleck, Common, Jackson Browne, Gipsy Kings, Sheryl Crow, John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks, Esperanza Spalding, Steve Miller Band, Culture Club, Poi Dog Pondering and Trombone Shorty’s Voodoo Threauxdown.
As if that wasn’t enough, Haydon offers an additional breakdown of programming that really makes Ravinia a one-of-a-kind institution throughout America or otherwise.
“We also have chamber music and recitals, films with live scores, our annual celebration of Mexican music and culture, reggae, and American Songbook—truly something for everyone!”
Tickets go on sale to the public on Wednesday, May 4, while additional donor opportunities that provide early access to purchase and enter the park all also available, along with the entire schedule, at Ravinia.org.
