A barrage of trucks filled the parking lot well before the show started to kick off the 2018 concert season at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre to get a head start on the drinking and catch rising stars Lauren Alaina and Luke Combs. The triple billing indeed proved popular and was matched by the tour’s quality production that even reached those on the most distant corner of the lawn.

Given the upward trajectory of Alaina and Combs towards Aldean’s already lofty status amongst the A-listers, this is definitely a powerful pairing to catch this season.

Alaina first traveled with Aldean in 2012 and has since found success with her sophomore release, “Road Less Traveled.” Luke Combs is on a roll as well and had everybody on their feet singing along to his first chart-topping single, “Hurricane.”

Jason AldeanAldean recently dethroned Cardi B to position himself as the first country artist of 2018 to land atop the Billboard album chart when he dropped “Rearview Town” last month, marking the fourth consecutive #1 release for the ACM Entertainer of the Year. The headliner started his set with an equally impressive bang, launching out of a chute atop the upper deck of the enormous stage for “Gettin’ Warmed Up.”

Country ballad “A Little More Summertime” hit the mark on a chilly, drizzle-filled evening with a mood-setting video that brought a little warmth. The melancholy “Any Ol’ Barstool” drew an empathetic response as fans swayed and sang along, while the up-tempo smash “Crazy Town” offered a fresh change of pace.

Aldean didn’t talk much during the show but teased the crowd with latest single and duet “Drowns The Whiskey,” noting Miranda Lambert’s presence on the song and shouting “guess what?” only to be followed with a disconcerting “she’s not here!” Given the upward trajectory of Alaina and Combs towards Aldean’s already lofty status amongst the A-listers, this is definitely a powerful pairing to catch this season.
